Mini-van vs. pole on Diem Road

At 8:43AM on Saturday, July 19, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched to the 5200 block of Diem Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident standby.\

Units arrived on the scene to find a mini-van that had struck the utility pole, heavily damaging the vehicle, and snapping the pole halfway up.\
\
Ambulance 4-9 was then requested to the scene due to the injuries that the driver incurred in the collision, and transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. \
\
Frontier Communications was then summoned to the scene to inspect the damaged pole and Blue Ball Garage was summoned to remove the damaged vehicle from the scene.\
\
Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 9:12, while the fire police remained on the scene to keep the roadway closed until the utility and tow companies could arrive on the scene.\
\
After the pole was inspected, and the vehicle removed, the roadway was reopened, and the final units cleared the scene around 9:45 AM.
