It is with deep regret that the Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 announces the passing of Past Assistant Chief Mark Beyer. Mark went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2007.\

Mark faithfully served the Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 for many years, joining in 1958 and serving as Assistant Fire Chief from 1978 to 1995, and also serving as Fire Police Lieutenant in the late ’90s & early ’00s. Mark was also instrumental in starting up our ambulance service in 1958.\
\
Mark is the father of our current President and Deputy Fire Chief, John Beyer.\

The following is Mark’s obituary as it appeared in the Lancaster Newspapers:\

“Mark W. Beyer\
\
Mark W. Beyer, age 74 of Kinzers, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA.\
\
He was the husband of Mildred L. Hershey Beyer with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on November 13th of last year.\
\
He was born in Clay Twp., son of the late Russel R. and Mary Wissler Beyer. He was a member of Hershey Mennonite Church where he had served as a trustee and usher. He was a retired farmer and plumber.\
\
Mark was a member of the White Horse Fire Company since 1958, he served as Assistant Chief from 1978 to 1995, served as a trustee, fire police and assisted the Ladies Auxilillary.\
\
Surviving besides his wife are three sons: John, husband of Cynthia Zimmerman Beyer of New Holland, Jay, husband of Karen Bergstrom Beyer of Leola, Jerry, husband of Elizabeth Mast Beyer of Manheim, 6 grandchildren, 6 siblings: Paul, husband of Martha Newswanger of Rothsville, Ray, husband of Mary Ann Martin Beyer of Ephrata, Lois, wife of Ellis Zeiset of East Earl, Anna, wife of Melvin Gehman of Annville, Orpha Weaver of Belleville, Esther, wife of Amos Bange of Canada. He was preceded in death by 2 siblings: John and Arlene Beyer.\

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 2 P.M. from the Hershey Mennonite Church, 401 Hershey Church Road, Kinzers with the Pastor Toshi Imchen officiating. The interment will be private in the adjoing church cemetery prior to the service.\

There will be no viewing, the family will greet friends at the church on Monday from 1 P.M. until time of service. Arrangements by the Shivery Funeral Home, Christiana & Paradise.”\
