Early morning motorcycle accident in Cambridge

At 1:54AM, on Sunday October 26, Station 4-9, along with Medic 9, were dispatched to the 500 block of Cambridge Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Responding units were advised by Lancaster County Communications of a motorcycle accident that was discovered by a passerby.\

Units traveled Cambridge Road from Old Philadelphia Pike to Churchtown Road with nothing found. Upon further investigation, the accident was found to be in the 500 block of Churchtown Road in the Cambridge section of Salisbury Township. Units arrived to find the motorcycle and rider both down in a cut cornfield, with a sizable amount of debris.\

Engine 4-9-1’s crew controlled hazards, while Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9 examined the motorcycle rider. The rider, who was not injured, was released to the State Police for their investigation. Squad 4-9 assisted the Fire Police with closing Churchtown Road between Cambridge Road and Main Street.\

The final units cleared the scene at 3:45AM.
