Ambulance and Tanker assist to Gap

At 3:12PM on Tuesday, December 22, Ambulance 4-9 and Tanker 4-9 were dispatched to assist the Gap Fire Company (Station 4-2) on a dwelling fire in the 5100 block of Lincoln Highway (Route 30) in Salisbury Township.\

Lancaster County 911 advised the responding units of a chimney fire which had extended into the fireplace mantle. Deputy 4-2 (Wenger) arrived on the scene and assumed Command 4-2, and reported a working chimney fire with extension into the walls.\

Tanker 4-9 arrived and staged on the west side of the fire scene. Ambulance 4-9 arrived and staged on the east side of the fire scene.\

The fire was placed under control at 3:43PM, with the final units clearing the scene at 4:23PM
