At 12:08pm on Saturday, February 9th, Tanker 4-9 was dispatched as part of the first alarm assignment to assist Station 4-4 (Intercourse) for a barn fire in the 3800 block of Yost Road in Leacock Township.\

Tanker 4-9 responded within a minute. The reporting party was reporting a large barn with a shop inside on fire. Deputy 4-4 (Yoder) while enroute, reported heavy smoke and requested 2nd alarm be struck. Engine 4-9-2 was then dispatched on the 2nd alarm at 12:12. Deputy Yoder arrived on the scene reporting a large amount of fire visible. \

Engine 4-4-1 & Truck 3-9 both arrived and attacked the fire; 4-4 from the bottom, and 3-9 from the top. Engine 3-9-2 laid a 5″ supply line up the driveway. Tanker 4-9 arrived on the scene, and hooked into Engine 3-9-2’s supply line, ready to charge it if needed. Engine 4-9-2 arrived and staged along Yost Road.\

Thanks to the aggressive attack by crews from Stations 4-4 & 3-9, the fire was placed under control at 12:26, with the remaining units directed to respond non-emergency.\

Engine 4-9-2 and Tanker 4-9 were released at 12:32, and returned to station. \

Station 4-9 Fire Police assisted with traffic control, by closing Yost Road at Peters Road.\
