At 6:13pm, Ambulance 4-9, Engine 4-9-1, and Tanker 4-9 were dispatched as part of the first alarm assignment to assist the Gap Fire Company (4-2) on a dwelling fire on the 800 block of Circle Drive in the Crestwood Estates section of Salisbury Township. Chief 4-2 (Kurtz) responded and was advised by Lancaster County 911 of a burning odor in the residence. Chief Kurtz arrived on the scene with nothing evident, and had all units stage at the entrance to the mobile home park, except for Engine 4-2-2 and Truck 4-2. The smell was traced to a faulty furnace. The situation was placed under control and all of the staging units were released at 6:28pm.\

At 8:58pm, Ambulance 4-9 and Engine 4-9-1, along with Ephrata Hospital Medic 9 and the PA State Police, were dispatched to the 5500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in White Horse behind the White Horse Luncheonette for a vehicle accident involving a horse and buggy. Responding units were advised of a horse and buggy into a fence to the rear of the restaurant. After arriving on the scene, it was determined that the buggy driver was having a medical emergency, and that it was not a vehicle accident. Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9 treated the patient, while Engine 4-9-1 assisted with manpower and lighting. It was determined that the State Police would not be needed, and the Trooper was canceled upon arriving on the scene. Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 9:16pm, with the EMS units clearing shortly afterwards.\
