Ambulance assist to Gap on an overturned Tractor Trailer

On Wednesday, November 14th, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched along with Lancaster EMS Medic 6-12-10 to assist the Gap Fire Company (Station 4-2) on a vehicle accident involving an overturned tractor trailer at the intersection of Hoffmeier Road and Route 30 in Salisbury Township.\
\
Ambulance 4-9’s crew was already in station participating in the Prehospital Trauma Life Support Class being held at Station 4-9 (see separate story) and responded immediately.\
\
A tractor trailer was attempting to make the right turn from Route 30 on to Hoffmeier Road, when the trailer ran over the roadbank, tipping the trailer, and spilling the load of lumber that was being hauled to a local shed construction business.\
\
Fortunately, there were no injuries, and Medic 6-12-10 was canceled. Ambulance 4-9 stood by while the trailer was placed back on it’s wheels. After the trailer was righted, Ambulance 4-9 was released by Command 4-2 and returned to station.\
\
Nulls Towing from Cochranville was summoned to the scene to assist in righting the trailer to its wheels.\
\
The Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.\
