On Friday, July 1 and Saturday July 2, the 18th Annual Horse Progress Days was held at the King farm on Spring Garden Road in the Spring Garden section of Salisbury Township.\
\
Horse Progress Days is the showcase event for newly manufactured and modified horse drawn equipment. Featuring field demonstrations, educational seminars, a parade of breeds and something for everyone in the heavy horse industry. Items and equipment were also available for purchase. There also was plenty of food and drink available from numerous vendors.\
\
Horse Progress Days Mission Statement:\
To encourage and promote the combination of animal power and the latest equipment innovations in an effort to support sustainable small scale farming and land stewardship. To show draft animal power is possible, practical and profitable.
\
\
Tens of thousands of people participated in and visited the event over the two days.\
\
Due to the sheer number of people involved, part of the planning was in the involvement of the EMS and Fire Services in case of an emergency occurring on the grounds. Fortunately, most of the injuries and illnesses occurring over the two days were minor, with only one person being transported to the hospital for an injury. The remaining persons were treated and released.\
\
We would like to thank all of the mutual aid departments listed below for their valuable assistance during the event. We couldn’t have done it without you.\
