At 12:51AM on Wednesday, November 12, Station 4-9, along with mutual aid from Honey Brook, Gap, and Intercourse Fire Companies were dispatched to the 6100 block of Wanner Road in the Mount Pleasant section of Salisbury Township for an outbuilding fire.\
\
Responding units were advised by Lancaster County 911 of a shed on fire with a close exposure to a shop building. Chief 4-9 (R. Gossert) advised of a working fire visible from 2 miles away. First arriving unit Engine 4-9-1 arrived with a 10X20 shed fully involved in fire, confirming the direct exposure. The arriving 4-9 units quickly brought the fire under control, recalling all units except for Station 4-9 and Truck 4-2. Truck 4-2 was released shortly there after when it was confirmed that their services would not be needed.\
\
The source of the fire was traced to a propane heater in the shed used to warm a litter of puppies inside during the cold night. Unfortunately, the puppies succumbed in the fire.\
\
After overhauling the remains of the shed, the final units cleared the scene at 2:09 AM\
