On the rainy evening of Friday October 26, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched at 5:54 PM to the 5400 Block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township to standby at a property damage vehicle accident. A vehicle had lost control on the roadway, and went off into a utility pole, snapping it off at ground level.\

After Engine 4-9-1 & Deputy 4-9 arrived on the scene, Ambulance 4-9 was requested at 6:13 PM to the scene as a precaution to check the two occupants of the SUV. Fortunately, the subjects were not injured, and refused transport to a hospital. \

Ambulance 4-9 cleared the scene, and Engine 4-9-1 stayed on location to provide lighting to the utility companies until they could get additional repair crews to the scene. Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 8:49 PM, and Station 4-9 Fire Police kept Old Philadelphia Pike closed until 10:30 PM until PPL Electric had their own flagmen respond to the scene to detour traffic while a new pole was placed.\
