Snowy day gives the Volunteers 6 calls in 7 hours.

On Thursday, January 17th, a snow storm dropped 3 inches of snow in Salisbury Township.\

The crews were kept busy on various types emergencies starting at shortly after 1PM, and lasting through the evening.\
\
At 1:13 PM, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched to cover Honey Brook (Station 33) Ambulance with Medic 9 (Ephrata Hospital) on a medical emergency on Route 322 in Salisbury Township. The patient was transported to a local hospital.\

At 2:34 PM, Parkesburg Ambulance (28) was dispatched to cover Ambulance 4-9 to assist the Gap Fire Company (4-2) on a Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Umbletown and Hoffmeier Roads in Salisbury Township. Ambulance 4-9 cleared the prior call at 2:38 and responded to the accident, and canceled Ambulance 28. Rescue 4-2 & Squad 4-2 also responded. After arriving on the scene, it was determined that no one was injured, and Ambulance 4-9 cleared the scene at 2:57 PM.\

At 4:14 PM, Ambulance 4-9, Engine 4-9-1 and Engine 4-9-2 were dispatched with Medic 9 and Rescue 4-2 to a vehicle accident with entrapment on Route 897 south of Lynch Road at the S-turns in Salisbury Township. After being removed from the vehicle by 4-9 & 4-2 crews, the patient was transported to a local hospital. Engine 4-9-2 was placed available at 4:22 PM. Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 5:07 PM, while Ambulance 4-9 marked available at 7 PM.\

At 4:36 PM, Station 4-9 Fire Police were dispatched to assist the Pennsylvania State Police with traffic control at a vehicle accident in the 500 block of Cambridge Road in Salisbury Township.\

At 4:40 PM, while the Ambulance and Engine 1 were still at the Route 897 accident, Engine 4-9-2 was dispatched to respond to the accident on Cambridge Road to assist the State Police. Engine 2 cleared at 5 PM.\
\
And finally, at 8:01 PM, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched to a snow-related medical emergency in the 5200 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township. The patient was transported to a local hospital. The Ambulance was available at 9:22 PM.\
