Small kitchen fire in Springville

At 10:33AM on Monday, June 21, Station 4-9, along with units from Stations 4-4, 4-2, and 3-2 were dispatched to the 5300 block of Peters Road in the Springville section of Salisbury Township for a dwelling fire. \

Lancaster County Communications advised the responding units of a kitchen fire; just prior to arrival of the apparatus, the homeowner advised the fire was out. Engine 4-9-1 arrived and confirmed the fire out. The assignment was held to Engine 4-9-1 and Ambulance 4-9. Engine 4-9-1 ventilated the smoke from the residence, while Ambulance 4-9 treated the resident for minor smoke inhalation. The fire started when a burner was turned on and two plastic cutting boards ignited.\
