September 26, 2021

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 26, Station 49 was alerted for an ambulance and Fire Police to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company on the scene of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 322 and Cambridge Road in Honey Brook Township.

An SUV and a horse & buggy had collided with the four subjects in the buggy being ejected and injured.

Multiple ambulances from Elverson-Honey Brook EMS (x2), Westwood EMS (x2), Tower Health EMS, and White Horse EMS responded to the scene, with the fire department assisting with patient care and controlling hazards. Fire Police from Honey Brook and White Horse closed Route 322 and Cambridge Road for the duration of the incident and subsequent investigation.

Ambulances from Keystone Valley and New Holland initially also responded to the scene but were not needed and transferred to the Honey Brook and Wagontown firehouses to cover any other emergencies in the area.

Four patients were transported to the Reading Hospital & Trauma Center. The driver of the SUV did not request transportation to a hospital.

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
