At 1:42 PM on Sunday, August 14, units from the Honey Brook Fire Company, Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS, and Brandywine Hospital were dispatched to Route 10 south of Route 322 in Honey Brook Borough for a vehicle accident with entrapment.
Chester County 9-1-1 advised the responding units of a two vehicle accident with entrapment.
Ambulance 189-1 arrived and reported several subjects injured, and confirmed entrapment. 189-1 also requested the dispatch of a “medical box” which would bring several more EMS units from Chester and Lancaster Counties to the scene, including Ambulance 49-1.
Rescue 33 and Engine 33-1 arrived on location and began extricating a total of five persons, as well as controlling scene hazards.
At completion of the incident, a total of 8 persons were transported to two local trauma centers, and the left over EMS units were released so that the area was covered in case of any other emergencies. Ambulance 49-1 was released and returned to White Horse.
