Crash on Cains Road injures one

At 7:37 PM on Friday, November 1, Station 49, along with Keystone Valley EMS & Brandywine Hospital ALS, were dispatched to the 500 block of Cains Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident. Ambulance 49 was on a prior emergency in Salisbury Township , and was not available.

Responding units were advised of a single vehicle accident, single pickup versus a roadbank with a high rate of impact, one injury.

EMS Captain 49 was the first arriving unit, and confirmed one pickup versus the embankment, with a patient lying on the ground.

Engine 49-1 arrived on scene and controlled scene hazards as well as pulling one precautionary handline; on board EMT’s also provided patient care until the arrival of EMS. Squad 49-1 arrived and assisted with traffic control by closing westbound Cains Road at Lime Quarry Road.

Ambulance 8 arrived on scene, followed shortly by Medic 93-4 and assumed patient care, transporting the patient to a local hospital for treatment.

After the PA State Police arrived and investigated the incident, Blank’s Towing arrived and removed the truck from the scene.

Station 49 cleared the assignment at 8:43 PM.
