On the afternoon of June 19, Engine 4-9-1 traveled to Blue Ball Station 3-2 to help celebrate Station 3-2’s 100th Anniversary, Station 3-2’s Ladies Auxiliary’s 75th Anniversary, as well as help house Station 3-2’s 2009 Pierce Quantum Pumper-Tanker (Tanker 3-2).\
\
The 3.25 mile parade lined up on Earland Drive in the Earland Industrial Park in East Earl Township. At 1PM, the parade, with the lights flashing and sirens screaming on the units, traveled east on Route 23, turned east on Route 322 to East Earl Road, turned north on Musser Road, and back to Station 3-2. \
\
The first half of the ceremonies was held in the stations banquet hall, and included speeches, dedications, and presentations; after which the ceremonies adjourned outside and Tanker 3-2 was housed by the housing companies, one of which was Station 4-9.\
\
During the ceremony, the new apparatus is pushed into the station three times. Originally, the apparatus was actually pushed. With the weight of today’s modern apparatus, the units are placed into reverse gear for some “help”. The first push honors God, the second push honors Country and Community and the third push is for the Fire Service and Good Luck. White Horse and Terre Hill did the first push on Tanker 3-2.\
\
After the ceremonies, everyone adjourned back into the firehouse for refreshments and socializing.\
\
We congratulate Station 3-2 on their milestones and wish them good luck with the new Tanker!
