At 4:02 PM on Tuesday, June 17, Station 4-9 was dispatched to the 800 block of Mount Zion Road in Salisbury Township for wires. A cement mixing truck had pulled down telephone wires, and in the process, pulled electrical wires down into a pine tree, causing the pine tree to smolder.\
\
Deputy 4-9 (J. Beyer) and Engine 4-9-1 (with 5 volunteers on board) both quickly responded to the scene; first arriving officer Safety 4-9 (C. Eno) arrived on the scene shortly after dispatch and relayed the situation to the responding units and Lancaster County 911, and requested the response of the utility companies to the scene, and also for Station 4-9 Fire Police to close Mount Zion Road between Mast and Wertztown Roads, due to the roadway being blocked by the damaged phone poles and wires, and also due to the burning live electrical line in the tree.\
\
Shortly after the responding units all arrived on the scene, the burning electrical line burned through, and dropped to the ground, and after a few moments of burning on the ground, the electrical circuit was uninterrupted and the line went dead.\
\
The Salisbury Township Road Department was contacted and asked to bring barricades to the scene to block the roadway until the utility companies could arrive at the scene. Barricades were placed on both sides of the scene as well as at Mast and Wertztown Roads.\
\
Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 4:45, while the remaining officers and fire police cleared the scene shortly after 5:30 PM. \
