Pedestrian struck in Cains

At 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 21, Station 49 Fire & EMS, along with a paramedic unit from Brandywine Hospital (Medic 93), were dispatched to the 6100 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in the Cains section of Salisbury Township for a pedestrian struck.

Lancaster County 911 was reporting a child struck by a vehicle with no further details available.

EMS Lieutenant 49 arrived on the scene and requested dispatch of Aeromedical to the scene.

Units arrived and provided care to the patient and controlled hazards and traffic around the incident. Fire Police from Wagontown (Station 35) also assisted at the scene.

JeffStat3 arrived and transported the injured child to a Pediatric Trauma Center.

The final units cleared the scene at 11:10 PM after the State Police concluded their investigation
