At 5:41 AM on May 5, Station 49 Fire & EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Mount Vernon Road & Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.

Lancaster County Communications was reporting a SUV versus a motorcycle, with the cyclist down in the roadway.

Units arrived and controlled hazards and worked cooperatively on patient care.

Aeromedical was requested to the scene for the cyclist, but was cancelled as the ground units transported the cyclist to a local trauma center. Unfortunately the cyclist succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The final units cleared the scene at 7:30 AM.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased in this time of great loss.
