At 11:48 PM on Friday, January 9, Station 49 was dispatched to assist the Wagontown Fire Company (Station 35) on a dwelling fire in the 100 block of Summit Ridge Road in West Caln Township.

Station 35 was initially dispatched for an outside generator that was on fire ten feet from the dwelling, with the siding on the home starting to melt. Chester County 911 then received an additional report that the home itself was now starting to burn. The assignment was then upgraded to a house fire.

Engine 49-1 was second arriving behind Engine 35, and dropped their supply line Summit Ridge Road from Octorara Trail (Route 10), as well as supplying Engine 35 with water. Engine 49-2 and Tanker 49 staged on Octorara Trail at Summit Ridge Road.

The fire was quickly knocked, and the dwelling was overhauled and checked for extension.

The final Station 49 apparatus cleared the scene at 12:38 AM.
