Engine 49-2 runs its first call

At 6:46PM on Friday, September 12, Station 49, was dispatched to the intersection of Route 340 and Cains Road in the Cains section of Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident. This accident would prove to be the first emergency response for the new Engine 49-2 which was placed in service 23 hours earlier.

Ambulance 49-1 was on a prior medical emergency in Salisbury Township and was unavailable to respond. Ambulances from Gordonville, Keystone Valley, and Westwood were dispatched to assist.

Station 49 handled scene hazards and traffic control around the scene.

Ambulance 43-1 transported to a local hospital, while Ambulance 8-2 and Ambulance 144 obtained refusals.
