This week marks National Telecommunicators Week 2014.

Your local telecommunicators are often an unthought of spoke in the wheel of Emergency Services. They answer your calls to 9-1-1, give lifesaving instructions to the callers, and dispatch Fire, Police, and EMS units to your emergency, as well as other agencies.

We at Station 49 are fortunate to have the ability to work with two great 9-1-1 centers and thier telecommunicators on an almost daily basis, namely, Lancaster County Wide Communications (LCWC), and also the Chester County Department of Emergency Services (CCDES).

Thank You to our telecommunicators in both counties, ans you do your often thankless job!

We would also like to offer a hearty congratulations to Woody Woodward who is this years recipient of the 2014 LCWC Fire Dispatcher of the Year award by the Lancaster County Fire Chiefs Association. Congrats brother!
