Two Vehicle Collision in Cains

At 6:13 PM on Thursday, November 8, Ambulance 4-9 and Engine 4-9-1 were dispatched to the intersection of Cains Road and Route 340 in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.\

Chief 4-9 (Gossert), Deputy 4-9 (Beyer), and Engine 4-9-1 all responded within 2 minutes of dispatch and were advised by Lancaster County 911 of a 2 vehicle accident, with three persons injured. Ambulance 4-9 responded shortly thereafter. Due to the number of injuries reported, Martins Corner Fire Company Ambulance 34-1 was dispatched to assist, and responded shortly after dispatch.\

Engine 4-9-1 was the first arriving unit, and confirmed a two vehicle collision , blocking all lanes of traffic. Ambulance 4-9 arrived on the scene and made contact with the persons involved in the accident. Fortunately no one required transport to a hospital, and Ambulance 34-1 was canceled. Ambulance 4-9 then returned to station. \

Station 4-9 Fire Police shut down Route 340 between Cains Road and Route 10 until the vehicles and debris were removed from the roadway.\

Rollbacks from Blank’s Towing and Price’s Auto Salvage removed the vehicles from the scene.\
\
The last 4-9 units cleared the scene at 7:18 PM.\

The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the incident.\
