Vince was a well known fixture in the Gap area, be it as a citizen, or a member of the Lions Club or Fire Company & Fire Police
Vince’s Obituary:
“H. Vincent Eby, 90 of Gordonville, PA, formerly of Gap, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was the husband of the late Beatrice R. Regener Eby who passed away on August 28, 2012.
He was born in Gap, son of the late Willis & Evelyn Evans Eby. He was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap, where in the past he was a trustee, elder, choir member and Sunday School teacher. He graduated from the former Paradise High School class of 1942. Vince worked for International Mill Service of Coatesville for over 30 years retiring in 1985. He then worked for Longenecker’s Pharmacy of Gap for 10 years. He was a member of the Gap Fire Company of which he was a past president and also was a member of the Fire Police. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Cochranville Golden Agers, and was a 50+ year member of the Salisbury Township Lions Club of which he was a past president.
Surviving are 3 children: Ronald husband of Sally Stauffer Eby of Lancaster, Dona wife of Jeffery Barrall of Lititz, Kathy wife of Cletus Faus, Jr. of Ronks, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister, Jane Kendig of Pensacola, FL. A memorial service will take place from the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA on Saturday, May 10th at 4 p.m. with Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private prior to the memorial service. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bellevue Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 810, Newport Ave., Gap, PA 17527.”
