Agricultural accident results in flyout

At 7:55PM on Wednesday, April 21, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched to a farm on Meadville Road in the Cambridge section of Salisbury Township for an injured person. Upon arrival of EMS at the scene, injuries were deemed severe and Medic 9 was dispatched to assist enroute to the trauma center.\

Upon rendezvous with Medic 9, the decision was made to fly the child to a pediatric trauma center. Lancaster County Communications was advised to dispatch aeromedical to the Liberty Fire Company’s east station in New Holland Borough. Station 3-9 was also dispatched to set up a landing zone in the stations rear parking lot. \

Upon arrival at Station 3-9, Engine 3-9-1 had the landing zone set up. Ambulance 3-7-1 was also in the area and assisted with patient care until the arrival of SkyCare1.\
\
Pateint care was transferred to SkyCare1, who then lifted off and transported to the pediatric trauma center.\
\
Ambulance 4-9 cleared Station 3-9 at 9:12PM and returned to Station 4-9\
