Ambulance assist to Gap

At 12:48 PM on Tuesday, January 12, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched to assist the Gap Fire Company (Station 4-2) on a vehicle accident in the 5100 block of Lincoln Highway in Salisbury Township.\

Lancaster County 911 advised the responding units of a car versus a tractor trailer head on. Deputy 4-2 (Wenger) arrived on the scene and confirmed the report, with a large diesel fuel leak.\

Ambulance 4-9 arrived on the scene and along with Medic 6 (Lancaster EMS), tended to the lone occupant of the sedan. Rescue 4-2’s crew removed the roof of the vehicle to allow crews to remove the patient from the vehicle.\
\
Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 6 transported the patient to a local trauma center for treatment of their injuries.\
