On the evening of December 16, five members loaded up in Squad 4-9 and personal vehicles and headed to the Bart Township Fire Company (Station 5-1) for an informational seminar presented by the Lancaster County Rescue Task Force.\
\
The task force is made up of members from Millersville (Station 6-5), Columbia #1 (Station 8-1), Lancaster County Haz-Mat (Station 2-9) and members at large from various county fire companies, and specializes in water, collapse, trench or confined space rescues. \
\
The evening started off with the leader of the Rescue Task Force, Chief 6-5 (Eshleman), showing a PowerPoint presentation to the firefighters showing the Task Force’s capabilities, apparatus, past responses, and what the first arriving responders can do to assist the arriving Task Force crews.\
\
After the presentation, everyone moved to the apparatus bays for a show and tell of some of the Task Force’s apparatus and equipment. A hit with everyone in attendance was the Task Force’s live scent detecting canine, Apollo, a black lab.\
\
Thank you to Station 5-1 for the invite and the drinks and snacks, and thank you to the Task Force for coming out and showing your equipment.\
