On the evening of Monday, November 16, crews met at the station and loaded up into the apparatus and headed to a local business for vehicle stabilization training.\
\
The topic of the evenings training was to retouch on the basics of vehicle stablization until the responding rescue truck arrives on the scene, and scene size up. In a vehicle accident, the vehicle is stablized to prevent it from moving any further, and possibly injuring the occupants further and injuring the rescuers.\
\
Assisting us in the evenings training was Rescue 33 from Honey Brook. A donated crewcab utility truck was utilized. The firefighters were split into two groups and were instructed by Captain 33 (Brooks) and Lieutenant 33 (Harlan).\
\
The first scenario involved the truck up right on all four wheels, the second on its side, and the third on its roof. The truck was stabilized using wooden cribbing, and the Junkyard Dog Rescue Struts. At the end of the evening the truck was rerighted, and some of the firefighters were given the opportunity to remove the windows, and cut the roof off using Rescue 33’s Hurst O-cutters.\
\
Thank you to SK Construction and Keystone Tractor Repair for the donated truck and use of the facilities, and thank you to the Honey Brook Fire Company for bringing Rescue 33 over.\
\
During the training exercise, Ambulance 4-9 responded to a medical emergency at a local physicians office.\
