2 alarm house fire in Leacock Township

At 12:21 PM on Saturday, January 17, the Intercourse Fire Company (Station 4-4), along with mutual aid were dispatched to the 3800 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Leacock Township for a dwelling fire. Chief 4-4 (Diener) arrived on the scene with heavy smoke showing and assumed Command.\

The second alarm was then requested. Tanker 4-9 was then dispatched as part of the second alarm at 12:37, and responded in a minute and a half. \

The fire was placed under control at 2:32. Tanker 4-9 cleared the scene at 14:41 and returned to station.\

The Lancaster Sunday News is reporting that the home, which was vacant at the time of the fire due to undergoing renovations, suffered losses at $75,000.00, and the cause of the fire is being attributed to a woodstove in the basement of the home.\
