Recently the Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 and the Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 Ambulance reach received a grant as part of the 2008-2009 Volunteer Fire Company/ Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. This annual grant provides funding for fire and EMS services in the Commonwealth for capital equipment, training and facility upgrades.\

The Fire Company received a grant of $9,500.00 that will be used toward the purchase of the skid unit for Squad 4-9 that will have a 250 gallon water tank and a 400 gallon per minute pump. The Ambulance received a grant of $4,916 that will be used to assist in paying for two new AED’s (Automated Early Defirillators), one of which will replace the current AED on Ambulance 4-9 and the other will be placed on either Squad 4-9 or Engine 4-9-1.\
