At 8:25 AM on the the rainy morning of September 27, the Honey Brook Fire Company (Station 33) was dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Beaver Dam Road and Hillbrook Drive in the Hillbrook section of Honey Brook Township for a vehicle accident.\

Responding units arrived to find a hay wagon had become detached from and rear-ended the tractor that was towing it. The one adult and two children that were in the wagon were then thrown from the wagon which was stopped by crashing into the roadbank. The tractor slid across a neighboring yard and was stopped by a rock filled ditch.\

Due to the number of patients and injuries involved, Ambulance 4-9, Medic 93-2 (Brandywine Hospital), and Medic 9 (Ephrata Hospital) were all dispatched to assist.\

Ambulance 33-1 and Medic 93-2 transported the adult patient from the wagon to a local trauma center, while Ambulance 4-9 transported the two children and the adult from the tractor to the same hospital. Medic 9’s services were deemed not to be needed, and Medic 9 was canceled by Ambulance 4-9.\
\
Station 33 Fire Police closed Beaver Dam Road between Rock and Lammey Roads for the duration of the incident.\

The Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.\
\
Stacey’s Towing from Honey Brook removed the wagon from the scene and took it to a farm in Honey Brook. A firefighter from Station 33 drove the tractor from the scene to the same farm as the wagon. \
