Relay Pumping training in Gordonville

On the evening of Monday, August 25, Engine 4-9-1 traveled to a training session held by the Gordonville Fire Company (Station 4-3). Engine 4-9-1 left White Horse at 6:30 PM and traveled to Gordonville and met up with Station 4-3’s crews.\
\
The focus of the evening’s training was relay pumping. Almost 2400 feet of hose was laid from the Pequea Creek on Old Leacock Road to the parking lot of Hoober’s Feed Mill on Mill Lane. Tanker 4-3 was drafting water from the creek and pumping it to Engine 4-9-1 which was on Old Leacock Road; Engine 4-9-1 in turn pumped to Engine 4-7-2 (Paradise) which was at the intersection of Old Leacock Road and Mill Lane; Engine 4-7-2 then pumped to Hose 4-3, whom pumped to Engine 4-3-1 at the mill. Hose 4-3 and Engine 4-3-1 then both disbursed the water over a nearby field.\
\
Part way through the drill, Engine 4-3-1 was moved to the creek to support the drafting operation.\
\
Fire Police from Gordonville and White Horse directed traffic on Old Leacock Road during the drill.\
\
Engine 4-9-1 returned to White Horse at 9:15 PM.\
\
Thanks to Station 4-3 for the invite!\
