At 3:06 PM on Friday, September 18, Station 49 was dispatched to the 5600 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township for a field fire.
Lancaster County Communications advised of a cornfield on fire, with an approximate 30’X100′ area involved.
Deputy Chief 49 (Beyer) arrived on scene and requested an additional tanker be dispatched as a precaution. Tanker 44 was dispatched to assist
Units arrived and commenced suppression, bringing the fire under control within a few minutes of the first arriving engine.
Units cleared the scene at 3:51 PM.
