At 7:24PM on Wednesday, September 5, Station 49 Fire & EMS, along with units from Gap, Christiana EMS & Lancaster EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Mount Vernon and Cains Roads in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.\

Lancaster County Communications reported a pickup versus a truck, caller could not verify injuries.\
\
Deputy 49 (Beyer) arrived on scene and confirmed the report, reporting the roadway blocked, with approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway.\
\
Lancaster County HazMat was requested to the scene to mitigate the fuel spill. Nulls Towing of Cochranville was also requested to send their spill trailer to the scene.\
\
The fuel spill was quickly contained, and the county HazMat team was cancelled, with Nulls proceeding in for the cleanup.\
\
Ambulance 49 and Ambulance 5-2-1 both transported occupants of both vehicles to a local hospital for treatment.\
\
The PA State Police investigated the incident.\
\
Nulls Towing and Blanks Towing removed the vehicles from the scene.\
\
The final units cleared the scene at 8:51PM\
