Passing of past Assistant Chief John Petersheim *UPDATED*

It is with deep regret and sorrow that the Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 announces the passing of former Assistant Fire Chief John R. Petersheim. John passed on the morning of Sunday, November 6 after an illness of several months.\

John joined the company in the mid-1990’s, and faithfully served the company as a firefighter, driver for both the ambulance and fire company, fire police officer, Assistant Engineer, Chief Engineer, Assistant Fire Chief, Trustee, Assistant Recording Secretary, and Vice President.\
\
The viewing and funeral services will be held at Pequea Amish Mennonite Church, 115 Blank Road, Narvon.\
\
Times for viewing : 9:00AM-11:00AM and 6:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 and 12noon-1PM on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with the funeral services following at 1:30PM. Requesting NO apparatus attend.\

\
John Roy Petersheim III, 47, of 5070 Old Philadelphia Pike, Kinzers, peacefully went to beep checking back, as we will post viewing/funeral information as it becomes available. with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2011 after a courageous six month battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann Zook Petersheim. They recently celebrated 27 years of marriage. Born in Gordonville, he was the son of John R. Petersheim II and Mary Stoltzfoos Petersheim of Kinzers\

He was a plumber for S&S Plumbing; and was a member of the Pequea Amish-Mennonite Church, Narvon. He enjoyed hunting; old engines; and was a member of the White Horse Fire & Ambulance. \

Also surviving are: daughters, Rosene Petersheim, at home, Verneda wife of Paul Zook, Kinzers, Anna Mary and Veronica Petersheim, at home; sons, John Roy IV and Isaac Petersheim, at home; a brother, Melvin married to Amanda Petersheim, Gordonville; three sisters, Nancy Petersheim, Kinzers, Sue married to Reub Smucker, Tennessee, Sara married to Abner Fisher, Kenya, Africa. \
