Vehicle accident with fire on Diem Road

At 11:52PM on Monday, May 16, Station 4-9, along with mutual aid, was dispatched to the intersection of Diem Road and Paes Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident involving fire.\

Lancaster County Communications advised the responding units that the caller heard a crash and could see fire through the trees, with a second call reporting a pickup truck into a parked minivan, with the truck on fire.\
\
Deputy 4-9 (J. Beyer) arrived on the scene and advised of a fully involved pickup truck into an outbuilding, and ordered the assignment be upgraded to the building fire as a precaution.\
\
Units arrived on the scene and extinguished the truck fire, secured scene hazards, and searched for the the truck occupants whom had fled the scene. The assignment was then downgraded to the units from 4-9, 3-2, and 3-9.\

The PA State Police investigated the incident. Lichty Brothers towing removed the vehicles from the scene.\
