Earl Township ISO Drill

On the afternoon of Saturday, October 30, Tanker 4-9 was invited by the Martindale and Liberty (New Holland) Fire Companies to participate in a water supply drill in Earl Township . Tanker 4-9, along with numerous other tankers from eastern Lancaster County and western Chester County, shuttled water from two fill sites to a dump site, where is was pumped through a 5″ supply line to Engine 3-10-1 and Truck 3-9. \
\
ISO Representatives were present to observe the water supply operation. The purpose of the drill was to lower the ISO rating for Earl Township.\
\
ISO’s PPC program evaluates communities with uniform criteria defined in the Fire Suppression Rating Schedule, including the water supply. Most insurers use this rating to determine coverage and calculate premiums for residential, commercial and industrial customers.\
\
ISO is an independent company that serves insurers, municipalities, fire departments, and others by providing risk information. \
