At 4:30PM on Monday, July 12, 2009, Station 4-9 Fire & EMS, along with Ambulance 5-2-1, were dispatched to the intersection of Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340) and White Horse Road (Route 897) for a vehicle accident.\
\
Responding units arrived to a two vehicle accident partially blocking the intersection. Engine 4-9-1 controlled scene hazards and assisted with traffic control. Ambulance 4-9 arrived on the scene and checked the occupants of the vehicles, whom fortunately were not injured, and refused treatment and transport. Ambulance 5-2-1 was then canceled. Units cleared the scene at 5:11PM, just as a rainstorm down-poured on the scene. \
\
Upon returning to station, several members watched the rain and lightning outside until 5:25PM, when Engine 4-9-1 and Squad 4-9 were dispatched to the 5200 block of Peters Road in Salisbury Township for a tree that was blown onto the roadway by the storm. Crews arrived, and using chainsaws, removed the tree from the roadway, and sawed the tree limbs into manageable pieces for the homeowner. Units cleared the scene at 6:04PM.\
