Vehicle accident on Gault Road

At 1:39PM on Saturday, December 5, during the seasons first snowfall, Station 4-9 & Medic 9 were dispatched to the intersection of Gault and Narvon Roads in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident. Responding units were advised of a van which had flipped over, with one occupant out of the vehicle.\

EMS Chief 4-9 (C. Gossert) arrived on the scene and corrected the location to the 700 block of Gault Road near the East Earl Township Line.\
\
Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9 both arrived on the scene and assessed the patient who refused transport to a hospital.\
\
Engine 4-9-1 arrived on the scene and controlled scene hazards. \
\
After the EMS units returned to their respective stations, the driver of the van changed his mind and decided to be taken to the hospital after all. Ambulance 4-9 was redispatched to the scene at 2:32, and transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.\

The Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.\
\
The final units cleared the scene at 2:58PM.
