Passing of past Ladies Auxiliary President Charlotte L. Moore

It is with deep regret that the officers and members of the White Horse Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary announce the passing of past Ladies Auxiliary President Charlotte L. Moore. Charlotte served the Ladies Auxiliary for many years, and organized the first Christmas Bazaar.

Charlotte's obituary:
"Charlotte Louise (Peck) Moore, entered into peaceful rest Sunday October 1, 2017 at Harrison House in Christiana, PA with her children at her side.

The daughter of Helen R. Peck, she was born on November 10, 1928 in Morgantown, PA. Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband Harry E. Moore, Sr. in 1994.

A lifelong resident of Gap, PA she had previously resided at Evergreen Estates in Lancaster since 2009. Always known for her patriotism, Charlotte was a life member of P.J. Bair II VFW Post 7418 Ladies Auxillary in Gap, where she had previously served as President. She served in a wide variety of roles in the VFW Ladies Auxillary at the District and Departmental levels as well, including District 9 President and Chaplain. Prior to his passing, she and Harry enjoyed traveling the State and Country attending VFW events and conventions; and together they contributed many thousands of hours volunteering at local Veteran’s facilities including Coatesville Veteran’s Hospital, Southeast Pennsylvania Veteran’s Center, and Scotland School for Children. She was also previously very active with the White Horse Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years, where she also served as President and organized the first ever Christmas Bazaar.

Charlotte was a long-time member of Pequea Presbyterian Church in Gap, where she enjoyed the fellowship and singing traditional hymns. A former seamstress at SLC Corporation in Blue Ball, PA, Charlotte enjoyed sewing, making clothes, and was known to be able to fix most anything clothing related. She was an also an avid crafter and expert jigsaw puzzler, who enjoyed collecting ruby glassware and swans. Her strength and determination will leave a lasting legacy for her family and friends.

She is survived by two children: Connie Campbell and son-in-law Joe of Paradise, PA; and Harry E. Moore, Jr. of Gap, PA; grandson Matthew P. Campbell (married to Eileen Darby) of Ronks, PA; grandson Michael C. Campbell (married to Laura Babetski) of Abilene, TX; and great-grandson Jackson C. Campbell of Abilene, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10 AM at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland PA 17557 with Dr. Rev. Stephen Getty officiating. Interment will follow in the Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery, Gap. Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 5 from 6-8 PM and Friday, October 6 from 9-10 AM at the funeral home. Arrangements by Beck Funeral Home, New Holland."
