June 2, 2017
At 3:05 AM on Friday, June 2nd, Station 49 Fire & EMS, along with units from Honey Brook, Churchtown, and Garden Spot, were dispatched to the 5900 block of Mast Road in Salisbury Township for a dwelling fire.
Lancaster County Communications advised the responding units of smoke in the house from an unknown source.
Churchtown Assistant Chief Martin arrived and reported a light smoke condition on the exterior and also a heavy smoke condition on the interior, with the fire possibly in a wall behind the clothes dryer. First arriving apparatus Engine 33-1 (Honey Brook) arrived and pulled handlines and began to commence interior fire attack.
Subsequent units arrived and collaboratively assisted with the effort. Fire was found in the crawl space beneath the home, and extended to the walls behind the dryer and behind the bathtub.
