Burnt Food Activates Fire Alarm At Mountain View Terrace

On Saturday April 8, 1:45 PM, Station 49 was dispatched to the Mountain View Terrace Apartments on Springville Road in Salisbury Township for an automatic fire alarm. Lancaster County Communications was reporting a smoke detector activation on the second floor hallway. Units arrived on location with nothing showing from the exterior, with the building being evacuated. Upon investigating, the crews found smoke on the second floor coming from burnt food. Engine 49-2 and Squad 49-1 commenced ventilation operations. Engine 49-1 was later requested for their positive pressure ventilation fan to assist with clearing out the building. The incident was placed under control at 2:45 PM.
