Simultaneous Two-alarm incidents in Sadsbury Township
At 12:39PM on Wednesday April 4, the Christiana Fire Company (Station 5-2), along with mutual aid, was dispatched to the 1100 block of Simmontown Road in Sadsbury Township for an outbuilding fire.
Ambulance 5-2-1 arrived on the scene with a fire in a garage attached to a house. Engine 5-2-1 arrived and changed the nature to a dwelling fire and upgraded the assignment to a second alarm. Engine 4-9-1 and Tanker 4-9 responded as part of the second alarm.
Tanker 4-9 cleared the scene at 1:14PM to respond to a second call in 5-2's area. Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 2:54PM. The final units cleared the scene at 3:34PM
**************************** At 12:49PM, Command 5-2 was advised of a second call in the district for a woods fire in the 00 block of Upper Valley Road in Sadsbury Township.
Cover units arrived on the scene with approximately 1.5 acres of woods involved and requested the second alarm be struck. Tanker 4-9 responded extra from the dwelling fire at 1:14PM to the woods fire.
The Tanker assisted with water supply operations and cleared the scene at 1:42PM. The final units cleared the scene at 3:01PM.
